Say O Prophet:O People of the Book; Come to common terms as between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. (3:64)

SUBATOMIC PARTICLES

With the split of atom, came the discovery of many sub-atomic particles such as, electron, proton, neutron etc. Till such time atom was considered as the smallest, indivisible physical entity (unit) in the world. But not so by the Holy Qur’an. The following Qur’anic verse refuses to acknowledge this limit:

"The Unbelievers say, ‘Never to us will come the Hour’: say, ‘Nay! But most surely, by my Lord, it will come upon you - by Him who knows the unseen - from Whom is not hidden the least little atom in the Heavens or on earth: Nor is there anything less than that, or greater, but is in the Record Perspicuous." [Al-Qur’an 34:3]

The Arabic word ‘dharrah’ in the Qur’anic text most commonly means an atom. This verse says that God is aware of everything, including what is smaller or bigger than the atom, thereby clearly indicating that it is possible for something smaller than the atom to exist, a fact discovered only recently by modern science.
